Jhola is a 2014 Nepali film in view of a story by author Krishna Dharabasi. It is about Sati culture that was common in the Nepalese society until the 1920s in which spouse needed to immolate herself upon her significant other's demise, normally on his burial service fire. For her part, performing artist Garima Panta won Best Actress grant at SAARC Film Festival held in Sri Lanka, 2014. The film was chosen as the Nepali section for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards, however was not selected.
