Two dead, five harmed in elephant assault

Apr 5, 2017-Two people kicked the bucket and five others were harmed on Tuesday when a wild elephant wreaked devastation in Hanumannagar Bazaar, the old area central command of Saptari.

The tusker entered the commercial center in Hanumannagar at around 9:30am from south-western piece of the town, bringing on a monstrous charge in the road. The pachyderm began assaulting as a few people attempted to pursue it away.

The tusker hazard proceeded in the range for around two hours until the security faculty and local people in the long run pursued the creature away towards the Koshi waterway. The creature is suspected to have entered the settlement from the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve which lies 15km from Hanumannagar.

Police recognized the perished as Roshan Kumar Jha, 22, of Hanumannagar-5 and Sanjaya Kumar Saphi, 30, of Hanumannagar-6. The two, who were basically harmed in the assault, were hurried to Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences however kicked the bucket amid treatment.

Three of the harmed are getting treatment in Dharan, while the others are experiencing treatment in neighborhood wellbeing office.

"We were threatened as the wild elephant all of a sudden entered the settlement. The tusker assaulted individuals as it couldn't discover an exit plan in the tight rear way," said Surendra Kumar Jha, an onlooker.

In the interim, the neighborhood expert reported Rs 500,000 in remuneration to the casualties' families.
